It’s our members that make PACFA Australia’s leading peak body for counsellors and psychotherapists. 

We provide relevant services, support and advocacy to counsellors and psychotherapists throughout your career, from student, to early career counsellor/psychotherapist, to highly-experienced clinical level.

Member opportunities

PACFA practising members are granted use of our exclusive registered titles ‘Certified Practising Counsellor’, ‘Registered Clinical Counsellor’ and ‘Registered Clinical Psychotherapist’ as evidence that you have met PACFA’s high membership standards.

Member Portal 

Log in to the PACFA Member Portal to change your contact details and communication preferences; log your CPD, client hours, and supervision hours; and update your ‘Therapist details’ to ensure you appear correctly on PACFA’s ‘Find a Therapist’ directory. 

Policies 

PACFA members must adhere to our Code of Ethics. Practising members must hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance and work within their Scope of Practice. 

Membership changes 

Members need to renew annually by the end of June. 

Members can apply for a membership ‘Leave of absence’ for reasons including parental leave, extended travel, or serious illness. 

Early-career members (Certified Practising), upon accruing the minimum number of client contact and supervision hours, may apply to upgrade to clinical membership.
