PACFA’s CEO and representatives of the College of Psychotherapy Leadership Group had a productive meeting with Janet Hay of Te Poari o ngā Kaihaumanu Hinengaro o Aotearoa/Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ).

 

The 2024 PACFA audit has concluded; PACFA would like to offer a few reflections on the process; how the audit helps to uphold our standards; and the common challenges faced by our members.

English Language Skills Standard and Recency of Practice Standards were approved by the Board at the June meeting. The Recency of Practice standard will be effective from 1 July 2025 and is not in place for current renewals.

 

We are pleased to announce important updates to the PACFA Continuing Professional Development (CPD) endorsement guidelines, effective from 1 July 2024.

 

In 2023-2024 registration and membership year, PACFA has hosted a broad range of professional development events. These sessions aim to broaden the knowledge base of our registrants and members and offer diverse insights into various topics.

The Australian College of Counselling and Psychotherapy Educators (ACCAPE) has officially closed following the last Board meeting.

 

The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of members to the Reference Group for the Program accreditation standards review.

 

Specialising in youth trauma and grief, Ellie has extensive training in family therapy and youth counselling. Beginning in the non-profit sector, she now also offers counselling through her online practice, Cocoon Mental Health.

PACFA has joined 53 other signatories in endorsing the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency's (Ahpra) Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPCP) Statement of Intent.
