Prac Payment Petition Nears 50,000 Signatures Ahead of Parliamentary Tabling

A national campaign calling for the expansion of the Commonwealth Prac Payment to all allied health and medical students has surpassed 45,000 signatures, with momentum continuing to build ahead of the petition being tabled in Parliament next week.

Advocates say unpaid placements place significant financial pressure on students and are contributing to workforce shortages by making study and training increasingly unsustainable.

With a goal of reaching 50,000 signatures, supporters are urging those who have not yet signed to add their name and encouraging existing supporters to share the petition with their networks.

Campaign organisers say every signature will help strengthen the call for fairer support for future health professionals undertaking mandatory placements.

We strongly encourage members to sign the petition.
