College of Psychotherapy update for affiliate members

19 March 2024

After the 2021 College of Psychotherapy Leadership Group decision, PACFA members will no longer be able to select affiliate membership of the College of Psychotherapy from 1 July 2024. The change, effective from the 2024/2025 registration and membership renewal period, means that affiliate members will no longer be eligible to receive the Registered Clinical Psychotherapist (RCP) badge. The affiliate membership of the College of Psychotherapy will also be removed from relevant individuals’ membership certificates.

PACFA registrants can apply to join the College as a Clinical member, which includes use of the Registered Clinical Psychotherapist (RCP) title. Please note that Student, Affiliate members and Certified Practising Members are not eligible to join the College of Psychotherapy.

If you wish to apply to join the College of Psychotherapy, please review the RCP application guide and fill in the application form once you have prepared all the necessary information. Please view the College of Psychotherapy Training Standards here.

Individual PACFA members receive membership of the PACFA College of Counselling included with their membership. If individual members wish to belong to additional Colleges, there are annual fees payable as detailed in the Schedule of Fees.

College of Psychotherapy Members also receive and are encouraged to use an exclusive digital badge denoting their status as a Registered Clinical Psychotherapist.
