At 30 June each year, PACFA memberships expire, which means it’s time to renew to keep the benefits of membership for the 2022-23 year.
Practising members and students should have received a renewal notice giving instructions about how to renew. Academic members and affiliate members will receive their renewal notices on Monday 6 June 2022.

Practising members who joined during the 2021-22 membership year would have received emailed instructions about how to calculate their pro rata exemption for CPD and supervision hours.
Practising and academic members, if you need to complete your required annual CPD hours before 30 June, read about CPD on offer in June.
In 2022-23 we are looking forward to advocating on members’ behalf to the federal Albanese Government and new federal MPs about issues affecting members nationally, including removal of GST and Medicare rebate access.
The year ahead will involve applying for full membership of Allied Health Professions Australia to enhance our members’ standing in the allied and mental health sector. We will also begin establishing the new College of Creative and Experiential Therapies – a home within a home for members working with ‘more than verbal’ therapies.
An addition to our high quality professional development offerings for the 2022-23 membership year will be our online PACFA Safety Through Diversity Conference 2022, over 5 days from 13-18 November.
In 2022, PACFA introduced free student membership for students of counselling, psychotherapy and Indigenous Healing Practices, as part of our commitment to nurturing new counsellors and psychotherapists embarking on this rewarding and much-needed profession. We trust that students who joined us under this initiative will renew their membership for 2022-23.
Recognising that 2021-22 has continued to be challenging for many practising PACFA members, there will be no membership fee increase in 2022-23. We will also continue to offer free access to recorded PACFA webinars, which can contribute to your Category B CPD hours. Practising and academic members who have faced challenges related to the Covid pandemic or natural disasters are encouraged to review our Hardship Policy and the Flexible CPD and supervision requirements for 2021-22.
Practising and academic members can claim their membership fee as a tax deduction.
