About PACFA
The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) is a leading national peak body for the counselling and psychotherapy profession.
Our members work with diverse modalities, individuals, and groups. PACFA also includes academics and students, aiming to represent the profession and build an evidence base for therapy practices.
PACFA supports diversity in counselling, psychotherapy, and Indigenous Healing Practices. Through branches, colleges, and interest groups, we promote professional development and accountability.
PACFA Colleges include:
- College of Counselling
- College of Psychotherapy
- Australian College of Relationship Counsellors
- College of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healing Practices

PACFA ensures members meet rigorous training and registration standards, producing the Psychotherapy and Counselling Journal of Australia (PACJA).
