PACFA Board changes and upcoming election

At the October 2022 Annual General Meeting on Saturday 8 October, an election will be held for the voluntary Board roles of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Counselling Representative, and Psychotherapy Representative.

In an announcement on 19 May to all PACFA members, PACFA President Dr Di Stow announced the resignation of Vice-President Tony Clarkson.

PACFA would like to extend our thanks to Tony for his valuable knowledge, skills, and contribution to PACFA since he stepped into the role in October 2020. In her announcement, Di acknowledged Tony’s insightful work on PACFA’s strategy and governance.

PACFA’s Constitution states the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer can serve 3 terms (6 years) in these roles, and 12 years is the maximum term for Board members.

After 12 years on the PACFA Board, with the last 6 years as President, Di’s Board term will conclude in October 2022. More will be shared about Di’s dedication and significant contribution to PACFA and the profession in the coming months.

Following the election of the next PACFA President at the October AGM, Di will assume the role of immediate Past-President, ex officio, for 6 months, to mentor and support the new President.

Also stepping down from their Board roles after serving 6 years are PACFA Treasurer George Gintilas, and Counselling Representative Pat Bradley.

‘The contributions of George as Treasurer and Pat as Counselling Representative have been immensely valuable to PACFA as an organisation and to all our members,’ Di said in her announcement.

PACFA will inform members of election details and how to nominate for the elected Board positions leading up to the October AGM.
