Help your new clients find you – update your ‘Therapist details’

PACFA practising counsellors and psychotherapists, to maximise your chance of clients finding you, update your ‘Therapist details’, which you will find on our website under the ‘Membership’ tab and ‘My Membership’.  You will be prompted to log in before you are able to update these details.

The important categories to fill in are:

  1. Your first name and surname (PACFA generally fills in these details but it’s important to check.)  Potential clients may search your name on our directory to ascertain whether you are a PACFA-registered counsellor or psychotherapist. Only PACFA counsellors and psychotherapists are included in our search directory.
  2. Your practice address, state and postcode (This is crucial to enable potential clients to search for a counsellor or psychotherapist who is geographically accessible for face-to-face therapy). Also tick the box 'Primary practice address' for your sole or main practice address.
  3. Your practice phone number, email and website (Make it easy for potential clients to contact you and find out more information about you).
  4. What kind of presenting issues you specialise in (e.g. addiction, depression, grief and loss, relationships issues, gender identity). See the drop-down menu next to ‘Specialisation’ in the ‘Find a therapist’ search directory on our website before adding your specialisations to your ‘Therapist details’.
  5. What practice modalities you work with (e.g. cognitive-behavioural therapy, Gestalt therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, acceptance-commitment therapy). See the drop-down menu next to ‘Therapy modalities’ in the ‘Find a therapist’ search directory on our website before adding your modalities.
  6. Any languages you speak fluently enough to offer therapy in that language
  7. Whether you offer therapy via telehealth/online. Potential clients may be interested in working with a therapist remotely for a range of reasons – it’s particularly convenient for clients living in rural or regional areas and for those with limited mobility. Telehealth also provides an option for therapists who are not offering face-to-face therapy to clients who are unvaccinated against Covid.
  8. Upload a current photo of yourself – preferably in jpg format – with a maximum file size of 1MB.
  9. Tick whether you are an NDIS provider or have any of the private health provider numbers

It's also important that you update your postal address to receive the PACFA magazine Psychotherapy & Counselling Today.
