PACFA Member Insurance Policy 


PACFA has arranged insurance options for members through (formerly Insurance House).

While PACFA does not endorse any particular insurance company, PACFA’s arrangement with enables members to access affordable insurance.

PACFA's Insurance Policy with is a Civil Liability and Public & Products Liability for individual PACFA members. allows members to cover a wide range of other health modalities in addition to counselling and psychotherapy. Download the Modalities List here.

PACFA has negotiated an Insurance Policy with This policy is available to PACFA members ONLY. The policy provides $20,000,000 of Civil Liability cover, $20,000,000 of Public and Products Liability cover.

The PACFA Insurance Policy option is one of the most affordable insurance products available, providing a high level of cover for a low premium.

If you are a student member, to receive your complimentary student policy via, please fill out the student form here and submit it to [email protected].

The Insurance covers members for all aspects of practice that are covered in their professional training as a counsellor and /or psychotherapist.

PACFA insurance requirements

PACFA members in the Certified Practising and Clinical Membership categories and all members of PACFA Member Associations who are listed on the PACFA Register are required to have Civil Liability (Professional Indemnity) and Public Liability insurance cover in place. All members must maintain continuous cover for the duration of their membership or registration.

Counsellors and psychotherapists in private practice, and educators working in any type of teaching or training role should always take out appropriate insurance cover. If you are employed by a government or non-government agency, or by a private business, you will usually be covered by your employer’s insurance policy. However, you should check with your employer that you are fully covered for the work that you do. If your employer does not cover your counselling and/or psychotherapy work, you will need to arrange your own insurance cover. It is important to ensure that you check your employer covers past work in private practice due to this being a claims made policy.
