Complex Trauma in Relationships
Globally, humans are increasingly dealing with very complex issues on a daily basis. Trauma is now a buzz word across the internet and within the therapeutic context.
This training is about working on the essential and most important and specific traumatic events that need to be worked on within the individual and/or relationship context, or how to ethically process the work in a contained manner.
The contextualised self that individuals find themselves in within systems can be either accommodating, accepting, tolerating, or ostracising.
This PD allows practitioners to:
- Consider the micro, meso and macro issues facing individuals, couples and families
- Delve into the context and layers that intergenerational trauma plays in the cultural mores of our modern world
- Determine referral processes if/when an individual trauma is impacting on the couple and/or family context of therapy
- Determining Counsellor safety, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and Counsellor merging issues
- Assessing Individual Counsellor risk for impaired practice
