Interpersonal Neurobiology Informed Approaches to Working with Complex Trauma

- an IFS perspective

 10 and 24 April, 8 and 22 May, 5 and 19 June, 3 July 2024, 9:00am - 12:00pm AEST

 

Structure of the course:
7 x 3 hour workshops comprised of didactic teaching, experiential exercises, demos, videos and Q&A 

Learning outcomes:

• Gain confidence with clients who are new to IFS and ‘cant go inside’
• Recognize and work with core shame in clients with complex trauma.
• Practice and master the skill of Implicit Direct Access with any client
• Understand the whole cascade of parts involved in a sequence with very polarized clients
• Learn more nuanced attunement skills with highly protected systems including those diagnosed with complex mental health disorders such as BPD or Schizophrenia
• Gain confidence in working with suicidal parts
• Learn simple approaches to working with the body and pre-verbal parts
• Understanding Transference and enactments with clients who have experience relational trauma

This course is not affiliated with the Internal Family Systems Institute (IFSI) nor is it a substitute for nor equivalent to the IFS Institutes Level 1, 2 or 3 trainings. To become IFS certified, you must complete the IFS Institute's Level 1 training and complete the certification process.

10 years post qualification experience working in Mental Health with clients who experience diagnoses of BPD and schizophrenia
Ethics approval as co-investigator in research on IFS and Psychosis, with Flinders Uni and University of California San Francisco - starting in 2024

This course counts towards 21 hours of category A CPD.
