Winners of PACFA Student Awards 2018 announced

PACFA’s Research Committee recently completed assessment of submissions for the Outstanding Student Paper Award (Postgraduate) for 2018. The standard of submitted papers was high and the Committee commended all students who were nominated, and their academic mentors.

The winner was Oliver Brooke from Murdoch University’s Master of Counselling program for his study: Porn is acting; it’s not real sex. Psychotherapists’ perspectives of problematic internet pornography use: An interpretative phenomenological analysis.

This paper was selected because it was judged to be well-written, appropriately referenced, included an appropriate method that was well-described and executed with an adequate sample for the task, addressing a real issue in the world, and potentially advancing knowledge about, and for, the psychotherapy and counselling profession.

Congratulations to Oliver Brooke on his outstanding academic achievement.

Six PACFA-accredited institutions nominated winners for the Outstanding Graduate Award.
The selected winners are:

Gillian Dixon – Edith Cowan University
Mirella Gleeson – Metavision Institute
Jane Marsden – University of Queensland
Rachel Palmer – Christian Heritage College
Nadia Rasheed – University of Notre Dame Australia
Sascha Rixon – Monash University

Congratulations to all of the Outstanding Graduates for 2018!
