Murdoch University Creative Arts Therapies program is offered by the School of Allied Health in the College of Health and Education. The academic team brings together evidence-based practice and practice-based experience to offer a contemporary approach to counselling and psychotherapy with strong foundations in the person-centred therapy approach. Specialty application of humanistic, existential, analytic and expressive therapies theories drive the psychotherapy learning and clinical approach to Creative Arts Therapies.
Creative arts therapies students who progress from the Graduate Diploma through to the Master of Creative Arts Therapies are provided with the opportunity to develop their applied skills in creative arts therapies and psychotherapy at Caladenia Clinic. At their first placement at Caladenia Clinic, our trainee creative arts therapists receive senior specialist clinical guidance and supervision from our academic team before progressing to an external placement. Our focus on strong foundations and quality of care makes our trainees and graduates well-prepared for entry to the profession.
Description of job:
A Lecturer Level B is expected to contribute to the teaching effort of the College through the preparation, coordination and delivery of lectures, tutorials, other relevant forms of teaching activities and supervision of postgraduate students. They are also expected to perform a range of administrative and service functions within the College and across the University, in addition to developing scholarly and/or research outputs and undertaking professional activities relevant to the discipline.
Experience required:
What you’ll bring to this role

A Master of Creative Arts Therapies or other area relevant to appointment.

Eligibility to be a registered clinical supervisor with ANZACATA.

At least 5 years demonstrated professional experience in relevant clinical practice.

Eligibility for professional registration with a relevant professional arts therapies body (e.g., ANZACATA, BAAT, AATA)

Knowledge of contemporary approaches to curriculum and pedagogy.

Ability and commitment to successfully supervise postgraduate students.
