About me

My practice
“Gentle, Experienced, Authentic and Independent”

Dr. Adjei is a gentle, humble, warm and prudent counsellor passionate to see you, couples and families find the pricelessness of life and a path to holistic recovery, relationship restoration, and achieving your full potential. I have patience in listening to your story. My goal is focused on seeing you make progress, making resolutions, self-discovery and respect, restoration of honour, relationship, passion, openness and willingness to press on.

I am an independent and trusted resource with significant professional experience and relevant qualifications underpinning my ability to enhance personal and professional effectiveness in others. I am a psychotherapist and counsellor, a mentor, a coach, a spiritual director who can help you restore balance, regain vitality and reconnect with what matters.

I have a Ph.D. in Christian Counselling (USA), a master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling (WSU-AUS), a master’s degree in Christian Counselling (USA), a bachelor’s degree in Theology (USA), Diploma in Accounting (UK), and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (AUS). I am a registered provisional member of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia), Australia’s governing body for psychotherapy & counselling and a registered member of MHPN (Mental Health Professional Network).

My training is principally humanistic, integrating various modalities of working in practice. These include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Existential Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT for couples and families), family system psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Play/Art Therapy and Gestalt Therapy, cultural diversity and ethics, Clinical Hypnotherapy, integrating spiritual direction where applicable. I have a particular interest in attachment theory, developmental psychology, the conscious versus the unconscious mind, the awareness of the impact of small ‘t’ trauma as well as big “T”’s major traumatic experiences and youth substance abuse and addictions. I love effectively integrating hypnosis, neuroscience, biofeedback and mind/body approaches such as mindfulness, meditation in clinical practice.

I am a certified Relationship/couple and family counsellor.
