Journalist and author Elfy Scott spoke with the ABC’s Sarah Macdonald about living with a mother who has a serious mental illness.

Scott’s debut book, ‘The One Thing We’ve Never Spoken About’ explores the experience of people living with complex mental health conditions in Australia as they attempt to navigate the extraordinary ongoing stigma that surrounds these conditions, as well as the mental healthcare system. The book is part-memoir (her mother lives with schizophrenia) and part investigation.
