Trauma Therapy – Personal Intergenerational Trauma

September (2 CPD hours)

  

Experienced practitioner, lecturer at ACAP and PACFA NSW Branch Convenor, Francis Kim, will take participants through an introduction of trauma and trauma responses with a special focus on trauma intervention framework and strategies.  The talk will be presented in the context of the presenter’s personal intergenerational historical account of trauma, manifested differently in family members.

Through a polyvagal lens: nervous system support for counsellors

01 October  (4 CPD hours)

  

This Melbourne-based, face-to-face workshop is a practical and immersive learning opportunity for those wishing to develop a better understanding of what your body needs at each moment and how to make space to meet this need. These understandings, as well as a supportive toolkit of resources will be explored and used by you personally to prevent burnout or shared with your clients.

Mental health course

3-12 October  (8 CPD hours)

  

The last mental health course for the year starts on 3 October. Online modules will cover mental health and illness, mental health assessments, mental health interventions, consumer-centred models of care and ethical questions.

'Relationships: Understanding Relationships through Different Lenses' retreat

7-9 October

  

The retreat will be an opportunity to explore supporting clients in different relationship issues. The presenters will share their experience and insights in mediation, family constellations and LGBTQIA relationships. It is a great opportunity to spend a few days with your peers and reconnect with nature around and your passion for the profession.
