Fast-track Provisional New Graduate membership

13 December 2022

Eligible students who apply to upgrade their membership to Provisional New Graduate by 31 December 2022 will have their applications fast-tracked. PACFA will process applications and provide Provisional New Graduate members with their exclusive Certified Practising Counsellor badge by the end of January 2023.

Counsellors and psychotherapists who have graduated from their course in the past 2 years can apply for our Provisional New Graduate category of membership. Provisional New Graduate members have all the benefits of provisional (early career) membership but receive a significant discount (25%) in the first year.

To be eligible for membership as a Provisional New Graduate, graduates must be assessed as meeting our Training Standards.

This includes graduates from all PACFA-accredited courses as well as those who have completed counselling/psychotherapy courses that include 40 hours placement, are studied over two years (full or part-time) and are not predominantly online.

PACFA is proud to support a diverse range of modalities and professional backgrounds to ensure a dynamic and highly skilled workforce is developed for the benefit of Australia’s mental health sector. All incoming members must have a relevant qualification at Bachelor degree level or above (AQF level 7 or above).
