Mental Health Course 

Run by Dr Catherine Hungerford in conjunction with the Cairnmillar Institute, the PACFA Mental Health Short Course aims to build practitioners’ skills and competencies around mental health and mental illness.  

This course is self-paced but includes interaction with other participants and Dr Hungerford. The next course starts on Monday 13 June. Register now. 

Catherine’s course counts as 8 hours of Category A CPD. 

The Spectrum of Dissociation & Dissociative Disorders – an Introduction 

Presented by Dr Adah Sachs and PACFA West, this webinar gives counsellors and psychotherapists an introduction to working with clients presenting with the spectrum of dissociation and dissociative disorders.

Applied Professional Ethics Series: Addressing power and privilege through social positioning — Evidence-informed guidelines on the ethical imperative of clinician self-disclosure 

This webinar - run by PACFA’s Gender, Body, Kinship, and Sexuality (GBKS) Leadership Group - will provide guidance on how to apply professional ethics in a culturally safe, anti-oppressive way with people whose lived experiences have been and continue to be minoritised and marginalised in our profession. 

Participants in this webinar will be asked to read and agree to a set of guidelines for culturally safe group practice. Make sure you have read these before registering, and can commit to abiding by these guidelines. The webinar will be held on Friday 17 June from 12 – 2:30pm (AEST). Mindfulness, Self-Compassions and the Grief Journey 

Presented by Dr Susan Delaney and PACFA’s NSW Branch, this webinar will explore how mindfulness and self-compassions practices can support us in our grief, and will include some guidance and an opportunity to try some simple practices. It is suitable for people who already have a regular practice and those who are new to mindfulness.
