PACFA Short Courses

To support the ongoing professional development of practitioners, PACFA has developed four online courses on key issues of relevance to therapeutic practice.

Building Your Private Practice

Run by Anya Grichina, this course equips counselling and psychotherapy professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to establish and run a successful private practice. This course does not count towards CPD hours.

Mental Health Course

Run by Catherine Hungerford in conjunction with the Cairnmillar Institute, this 8 hour online course aims to build practitioners’ skills and competencies to support clients with their mental health.  For PACFA Registrants, the course counts as 8 hours of training towards their annual CPD requirement.

Providing therapy using online technology

Run by Fiona Griffith, this course prepares practitioners to work ethically when they move towards delivering counselling or psychotherapy using online technologies. For PACFA Registrants, the course counts as 8 hours of training towards their annual CPD requirement.

Practical Ethics for Counsellors and Psychotherapists

Run in conjunction with the Cairnmillar Institute, this 6 hour course is offered as both a face-to-face workshop and an online course. The course aims to develop practical skills to work with ethical issues in counselling or psychotherapy practice.  For PACFA Registrants, the course counts as 6 hours of training towards their annual CPD requirement.

Online Modules

A number of our partners run online modules, facilitated in a learn-at-your own pace style, so you are able to complete CPD when and where it suits you. Most of these modules attract Category B CPD hours, however please check the listing for further information.

Unlike the short courses, these online modules are not run by PACFA, so you will need to contact the provider directly to enrol and for further information.
