PACFA is pleased to announce the theme of our next bi-annual conference, which will be held in Adelaide from the 29th April to 1st May 2022: Safety through Diversity
Traditionally, PACFA conferences have taken place in Melbourne and Sydney where large number of our members live. However, as a national organisation, it is important that we start reaching out to members all over Australia, and making high quality professional development opportunities available in more locations.
Streams at the conference will be:
1. Diversity in Gender, Body, Kinship, & Sexuality
2. Indigenous Healing Practices
3. Psychotherapy, Counselling and the Politics of Mental Health
4. The place of research in the future of the profession
Nigel Polak (Chair) – College of Counselling Leadership Group
Dr Alexandra Bloch-Atefi – Research Committee representative
Pat Bradley – SA Branch representative and PACFA Board
Tony Clarkson – Expert in professional development
Brian Gabriels – SA Branch representative
PACFA is teaming up with the Pullman Adelaide as our conference venue provider.
Positioned in the heart of the Adelaide Central Business District and with a brand new venue refurbishment set to finish early 2020, the hotel’s purpose built function centre will take on a contemporary and innovative design that plays on the natural surrounds of the calm and leafy Hindmarsh Square and the hotel’s unique 15th floor views of the Adelaide city skyline and hills.
We hope as many people as possible will join us in Adelaide for the 2022 PACFA conference.
More to come.
