PACFA QLD Leadership Group – Call for Expressions of Interest

Members in Queensland are invited to consider volunteering to join the Leadership Group for the Queensland Branch of PACFA – PACFA QLD – which will be officially launched on 1 July.

With members of the Queensland Counsellors Association (QCA) in the process of transferring over to PACFA membership, Queensland looks set to be a large and vibrant part of PACFA with close to 500 Queensland members.

Three members of the Management Committee of the QCA have volunteered for the Leadership Group but we are seeking a few more volunteers to help boost numbers for the new Leadership Group. Members residing in Queensland in Provisional, Clinical or Academic membership categories are eligible to join the Leadership Group.

The role of Leadership Groups for PACFA Branches is to:

• Provide continuing professional development
• Provide opportunities for networking and peer support
• Promote PACFA to local education providers and students
• Build a vibrant community of practitioners in Queensland
• Provide opportunities for practitioners in regional and rural areas to participate

We envisage that over time, PACFA QLD will be a focus for professional development activities and a supportive community for practitioners in Queensland.

To express interest, please email the PACFA CEO, Maria Brett, with a copy of your Curriculum Vitae and a statement of no more than 200 words explaining why you would like to join the Leadership Group. Contact: maria.brett@pacfa.org.au.

There are a maximum of 8 places available on the Leadership Group. In the event that we receive more than 8 people volunteering for the Leadership Group, the selection will be made based on relevant experience. Leadership Group members will go through an election process at the next Branch election cycle in 2021.
