Working with Grief and Loss

Presented by Peter Kadwell

The NSW Branch of PACFA would like to invite you to it’s next Professional Development event.

When clients seek counselling generally they are usually seeking some kind of change Eg. Better communication, less conflict, greater confidence etc. When a death occurs the change has already taken place – whether it be anticipated or sudden and unexpected. This session will focus on understanding and supporting people through this experience and what it means to ‘be with’ them during this time.

Learning Outcomes:

•Gain a comprehensive illustrated overview of how our understanding of grief and loss has developed over the last 100 years and implications for practice

•Understand that not all people grieve in the same way and appropriate interventions to consider

•Hear the lived experience of four bereaved people and by doing so gain insight into some of the complexities and multi-layered issues that arise in grief and loss

•Cultural considerations in grief and loss

Members $20 (inc. GST)
