Unit 1: Analyse Logotherapy in Therapeutic Practice (an Introduction to Logotherapy)

First Unit of the Advanced Course in Meaning Centred Therapy (Logotherapy) Studies

Presenter: Paul McQuillan PhD, Psy D, Faculty Member Viktor Frankl Institute (USA) and Member Viktor Frankl Institute Vienna

Become a Logotherapy specialist in the tradition of Viktor Frankl. The advanced course in Logotherapy is accredited as a specialist training with PACFA. Many know of his work, few understand the depth of insight into the psychology of the human being that Frankl developed.

The course is available to all either online or through face-to-face classes.  Unit one will be offered Friday 18 Saturday 19 and Sunday 20th of October in Brisbane.

Logotherapy provides an additional set of skills that will add to your professional expertise. It will provide you with a deeper understanding of what it means to be human and of life itself.

The Advanced Course in Meaning Centred Therapy (Logotherapy) Studies (Advanced Course in Logotherapy for short) consists of four units. They can be studied fully online or in blended mode by attendance at face-to-face classes (compulsory for PACFA registrants wishing to be recognised by PACFA, but optional for others). These days are held in conjunction with the Viktor Frankl Institute Australia Education Days (three each year in Brisbane). Depending on numbers, one or two units are offered for study each time in conjunction with each Education Day.

A doctor of psychology, former school principal and education administrator, Dr McQuillan now works full-time as a counsellor and therapist, practising and teaching logotherapy. Dr Paul McQuillan is a Counsellor and Therapist with Anglicare South Queensland and Coordinator of Research with Brisbane Catholic Education and Director of Lifechange Therapies, the teaching arm of The Viktor Frankl Institute Australia. Dr McQuillan is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Catholic University and a Faculty member of the Victor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy. He is on the editorial board of various international journals. In previous roles he has been Director of Administrative Services with Brisbane Catholic Education, a group of schools enrolling 67,000 students in the South East corner of the State. He has also filled roles as Assistant Director Resources and Planning with Northern Territory Catholic Education and as Principal of High Schools in three States of Australia. He currently Chairs the Education Programme Accreditation Committee of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia. Dr McQuillan is the co-author of the book “Finding New Meaning in Life” and has an abiding passion to carry on the work of Viktor Frankl in helping people to find meaning in their lives. Finding meaning can at times require a focus on purpose and outcomes but at other times challenges us to come to terms with our own fragility and mortality.

Fee: $550 for one Unit or $500 per unit for the whole course. An easy monthly payment method is available.

Who Should Attend: The online course is open to all, worldwide. Our courses have graduates and students from the medical profession, psychology, counselling, nursing, pastoral care, ministers of religion and the business world.
