Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with Children and Adolescents

Online workshop: this course will run across six Saturdays; 17th October, 24th October, 31st October, 7th November, 14th November & 21st November 2020.

Certificate in Cognitive Bahaviour Therapy with Children and Adolescents is an interactive training program, participants will be introduced to cognitive behavioural techniques and strategies for working with children and adolescents.

  • The ABC’s of dysfunctional behaviour and emotional disturbance will be learned
  • Specific dysfunctional beliefs will be explained
  • Methods for replacing these beliefs with more functional thoughts will be outlined
  • Specific CBT approaches effective with children and adolescents will be taught
  • Behavioural management and contingency management
  • Parenting and consultation skills will be included
  • Participants will have an opportunity to practice these new skills each day
  • Participants will need to bring a recording device (dictaphone or mobile phone with voice recording capability) for use in the afternoon session.
