A Dialogue with 3 Existential Philosophers

A Dialogue with 3 Existential Philosophers about Living Through These Times:
how they might expand our therapeutic conversations

3 online half-day workshops with Dr Steven Segal

NIETZSCHE: Friday 15 May 2020
KIERKEGAARD: Friday 22 May  2020
HEIDEGGER: Friday 29 May 2020

Host: Dr Alison Strasser

Presenter: Dr Steven Segal

We are living through a time in which everything that is certain and familiar is dissolving in front of our eyes on a daily, sometimes an hourly, basis. Can a philosophical dialogue with 3 Existential Philosophers help us respond to what is happening now in the world? Our favourite Doctor of Philosophy, Steven Segal, PhD, thinks it may.

Each 3-hour workshop will encompass:

  • Maximum of 25 participants to support CEP’s commitment to experiential professional development
  • A ‘dialogue’ between Steven and each philosopher about their perspectives on anxiety and uncertainty
  • A dialogue between Steven and Alison about helpful ways to bring some of these perspectives into the therapeutic dialogue
  • Plenty of opportunity for questions and comments
  • Break-out rooms at regular intervals for more intimate group discussion
