Editor appointed to Psychotherapy & Counselling Today

PACFA has appointed Dr Stephen Andrew as the Editor of Psychotherapy & Counselling Today. Congratulations Stephen!

Stephen was the Guest Editor of the inaugural edition of the journal. The first edition was very well received by readers so this was considered a ringing endorsement of Stephen in the Editorial role.

Even though we are in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, PACFA is very committed to continuing with the publication of our new journal.  Psychotherapy & Counselling Today is one way that practitioners can feel connected with PACFA and with the wider counselling and psychotherapy profession.

We anticipate that the next edition of the journal will be ready later this year. The publication will give members continued access to this valuable professional learning resource.

Dr Stephen Andrew
I have been actively involved in psychotherapy for nearly thirty years as a therapist, teacher, author, editor and researcher. I have practiced therapy in private and public health settings and I have a particular interest in the quality and experience of the therapeutic alliance. I have taught in psychology and counselling programs in a number of tertiary settings and coordinated two Masters of Counselling programs. As a researcher, my publications include Searching for an Autoethnographic Ethic, a book that addressed the ethical issues of researching via memoir. In a former life, I wrote for the music press. As editor of Psychotherapy & Counselling Today, I want to help produce a relevant, rigorous and engaging publication that speaks to the unique strengths and challenges of our profession.
