This is a 2 hour webinar with the opportunity to ask questions to the presenter. The following are learning outcomes for this session:
- Defining non-suicidal self injury
- Understand differences and links between self injury and suicidal behaviour.
- What to look for and what to say.
- Reasons why young people self injure.
- Identifying those most at risk of self injury.
- Risk factors for self injury behaviour.
- Protective factors for self injury behaviour.

This webinar counts as 2 hours of Category A CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

Presenter: Garry King

Garry King has worked as a teacher, youth worker and counsellor and holds degrees in welfare and education and master’s degrees in counselling and suicidology. He is an adjunct Senior Lecturer for the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention. He is the recipient of a Churchill Fellowship. He is a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention. Garry is an invited author for the 2020 School Social Work USA.
