Supervision Training – Adelaide

Supervision Alliance

Trainers: Dr Pamela Brear & Pat Bradley

Both Pat and Pamela are senior practitioners who have themselves undertaken extensive training in Clinical Supervision with each currently engaged in a substantial provision of clinical supervision.

The course is presented in six themed sessions and is spread over six months to facilitate learning and integration.  The curriculum has been developed with reference to the University College of London CORE Supervision Framework, the Australian Health Workforce National Clinical Supervision Framework, and is endorsed by PACFA as meeting their Accredited Supervisor Training Requirements.  Engaging in supervision practice outside of coursework hours, is part of the training requirements.

The course is underpinned by both an emphasis on the use of science-informed theory and practice, and by our philosophy of supervision that values the supervision encounter as a listening space in which the respectful interplay of relationship enables therapeutic wisdom to emerge.

Coursework includes theoretical and experiential approaches, short lectures, group interaction, personal reflection, creative arts-based supervision activities, skills practice, background reading, assignment preparation, and dynamic training interactions.

The course is designed to develop supervisory expertise that supports the optimum expansion of supervisee competence.  Whilst various supervision theories and methodologies will be explored, the mapping and articulation of a personal supervisory model will be encouraged in order to maximise best practice as a supervisor.
