This event will be a Residential retreat style PD with simple accommodation in the Dryandra woodland nature conservation area, 2 hours south of Perth. This special event offers opportunities for shared learnings and networking with peers. Topics will include making real connections with clients face to face, the challenges and benefits of online counselling, trauma sensitive yoga and coping with changes in the field. A guided nocturnal tour will also be provided to Barna Mia fauna sanctuary, home to some of Western Australia’s threatened native animals. 

PRESENTERS:

Doug Aberle


Doug spent 40 years in the electricity industry, was Managing Director of Western Power for 6 years and continues to consult to the energy industry. He also provides coaching, mentoring and consultancy services to senior business professionals focused on enhancing leadership skills. In parallel, Doug has developed a psychotherapy practice over 35 years. He trained as a Gestalt therapist with Gestalt Associates Training Los Angeles and is now a faculty member. He provides individual, couples and group psychotherapy internationally and supervises Gestalt trainees and psychotherapists. Doug currently chairs the PACFA Ethics Committee and is a board member of Edge Employment.

Lutz Pamberger

Lutz completed his psychology degree in Germany, before training with the Gestalt Centre Berlin, the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Los Angeles and in Family Constellations Therapy as developed by Bert Hellinger, with the Human Systems Institute, Portland (USA). Lutz works with individuals and couples and offers clinical supervision in private practice in Albany. He lectured in counselling at the University of Notre Dame Australia for 4 years, spent 10 years as a counsellor, supervisor and manager with a Perth non-profit community organisation and worked with disabled and mentally ill people in Germany for over 10 years. His main theoretical frameworks are Gestalt therapy and Systemic Constellations. 

Maxine Santich

Maxine has 15 years’ experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. She completed a Masters in Psychotherapy & Counselling and trained as a Gestalt therapist and accredited Breathwork practitioner. Maxine has also studied/participated in Family Constellations for over 25 years, obtained a Diploma in Natural Therapies and trained and worked as a fitness instructor. Maxine works with Medibank on the Beyond Blue and 1800Respect programs and as a volunteer counsellor with the Busselton Hospice bereavement team. She recently opened a private practice in Busselton.

Jen Stuart

Jen is a qualified yoga, mindfulness and meditation teacher, Jen has completed Somatic Experiencing Trauma First Aid with Peter Levine, further training in trauma sensitive yoga supervision and a Level III Diploma in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She is currently completing a Certificate IV in Allied Health. Coming from a background of personal trauma, Jen became fascinated with how trauma is held in the body and how we can release these stories from our body in a safe and nurturing way through yoga, breathwork and somatic experiencing. Based in Margaret River, Jen works with individuals and groups in person and online. She also mentors practitioners to support them to become more trauma informed.


For PACFA Registrants, this retreat counts as 7 hours of Category A  and 2 hours of Category B CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

 

Event Cancellations
Customers seeking to cancel their registration more than 5 working days prior to the event date may request a credit to be applied to their account. Credits will be accessible through the PACFA Portal and are valid for up to a year from the purchase date. This policy is at the discretion of PACFA and may change.
