Tim has been working as a psychotherapist for nearly 25 years in Sydney and originally in Britain where he trained. He also trains Psychotherapists, runs groups and consults to organisations. His research interest is in the relationship between the military, masculinity and society.

Ione Lewis

Ione Lewis has replaced Jan Grant as a SCAPE representative on the PACFA Board from August 2006.

Ione is a Senior Lecturer and the PG Counselling Courses Coordinator at the University of Canberra. She has been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate counselling, psychotherapy and supervision education and training for fifteen years, the supervision of postgraduate counselling research students and has practiced clinically for over twenty-five years. She has a special interest in trauma and victims of crime counselling. She is the current President of SCAPE and a member of AASW and ANZAP. She is a Board member of the ACT Hepatitis C Council. Since 2003, Ione has contributed to the training of HIV Counsellors in PNG through week long intensives run by the National HIV/AIDS Support Program (NHASP) two to four times a year.  She is an active researcher with publications in the area of HIV transmission and violence against women; evaluation of counselling and natural therapies, consumer participation in counselling research, counselling & field education; professional identity and counselling research.

 Ron Perry is the Director of the Institute of Counselling in Sydney. The Institute is currently celebrating thirty years of counselling training under his leadership. He is a consultant psychologist and Family Therapist in private practice. Ron serves as a consultant/supervisor at several non-government and government agencies, where Family Therapy and system thinking are an important adjunct to the work being done.

Charles Wilson is CEO for Communicare Sydney. In addition he works as a psychologist and relationship counsellor in a small private practice from home. Charles has been a counsellor for over 19 years and been actively involved on a National level in the Australian Association of Marriage and Family Counsellors.

 Nitya is a members of the Counsellors & Psychotherapists Association of NSW. She has been counselling for over 18 years and is currently in private practice in Sydney. She has taught counselling at both Undergraduate and Post Graduate level as well as having an extensive corporate consultancy career. Nitya is keenly interested in the supporting counsellors and psychotherapists in their professional lives.

Andrew is the Managing Director at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP). ACAP has been involved in the education and training of counsellors for over 20 years. Previously, Andrew worked for Relationships Australia in Queensland. He has been actively involved in the counselling field since 1985. Most of his experience as a counsellor, supervisor and counsellor educator has been gained in the non-government community services sector. Now residing in Sydney, he is currently immediate Past-President of one of the PACFA members associations, SCAPE (Society of Counselling and Psychotherapy Educators). Andrew also sees counselling clients in a small private practice. He has an interest in the development of counselling and psychotherapy course accreditation within Australia.

Banu Moloney

Banu Moloney is a lecturer at the Bouverie Centre, La Trobe University in the Postgraduate Family Therapy courses. She has over 25 years experience as a family therapist with a special interest in working with children and adolescents in the context of their families. She is qualified Social Worker, Psychologist and family Therapist. Banu has many years of experience in designing and conducting training programmes in family therapy, counselling and consultation to a wide range of organisations. Banu has also been involved in the Centre for Grief Education in curriculum development and delivery in the Graduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Grief Counselling.

Fiona Hall

Fiona ran a private psychotherapy and supervision practice for 15 years in Cambridge, England, and moved to Canberra in 2004. She is into her second year as President of CAPA CAR. She comes from a social service background, where she worked with families, communities and as a counsellor and researcher. Her interests more recently have been in education and improving the environment for counsellors and psychotherapists. She contributed to the consultative process for the development of the accreditation process of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, as a senior registered practitioner. She has three daughters who are home educated and balances her life by rock climbing and drawing.

Sophie Holmes

Psychologist, Family Therapist, Director of Williams Road Family Therapy Centre, former President of the Victorian Association of Family Therapists

Sophie works in private practices as a Family Therapist and also as a Consultant Educational Psychologist specialising in working with the larger system of family and school, dealing with issues such as learning disabilities, behavioural problems, suicide, violence and many other issues involving couples, children and adolescents. She has been invited to present her work at many conferences, both in Australia and overseas.

 After training as a psychiatric social worker at the London School of Economics, Jim worked in adult and child psychiatric settings in the UK for a number of years before migrating to Australia in 1974. He was Executive Director of the Marriage Guidance Council of WA (now Relationship Australia WA) 1984-90, prior to which he lectured in Schools of Social Work in Victoria and the UK; he has been in private practice as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist working with individuals and couples since 1990. From 1994-02 he held a part-time lecturing position at Edith Cowan University, teaching on the postgraduate programmes in counselling and psychotherapy. He is a clinical member of the Association for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy of Western Australia (APPWA) and a member of the APPWA Training Committee, and a member of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Association of Western Australia (PACAWA). Jim was the inaugural President of PACFA 1998-2002.
