PACFA recruiting a new Policy and Advocacy Manager

PACFA is recruiting a full-time Policy and Advocacy Manager to work closely with the CEO to implement a range of campaigns aimed at increasing professional recognition and employment opportunities for counsellors and psychotherapists. PACFA is in a phase of significant growth and development. This position will support the continuing growth of the organisation nationally but helping us get more runs on the board with our professional recognition strategy.

Reporting to the CEO, the Policy and Advocacy Manager will plan and implement strategies to lobby federal and state governments, government agencies, private health funds and employers for recognition of PACFA-registered counsellors and psychotherapists. In collaboration with the CEO, the Policy and Advocacy Manager will prepare of submissions to government, policy and advocacy materials and lobbying briefs, and will build strategic relationships with key stakeholders.

Applicants will have relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. politics, law, public policy or health promotion), knowledge and experience of political processes and government policy, and experience in a policy or advocacy role. Applicants will have high-level written and verbal communication skills, for example, experience writing campaign materials and/or government submissions, public speaking or media communications experience, and high-level relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
