Mental Health Practitioner Eligibility

The specialist category of Mental Health Practitioner on the PACFA Register has now commenced
operation. To see the current list of PACFA Mental Health Practitioners, click on the List of National Mental
Health Practitioners at the PACFA homepage.

Applications must be made using the application form and applicants will be assessed by PACFA Mental Health
Panels against the eligibility criteria set out in the Mental Health Practitioner Requirement.

In our future campaigning for recognition of counsellors and psychotherapists by government, PACFA
Mental Health Practitioners are the Registrants that PACFA will endorse as being competent to become
providers of mental health services under the government’s Access to Allied Psychological Strategies (ATAPS) program.

There is a one-off application fee of $165 (including GST) and renewal will be included in the annual
renewal process for the PACFA Register. Additional Professional Development and supervision requirements
apply to the renewal of the specialist listing.
