Ione has been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate counselling, psychotherapy and supervision education and training and supervision of higher degree research students for 17 years and has practiced clinically for over 26 years. She is an active researcher in professional identity, the relationship between sexual health and violence, gender, evaluation of women’s health services, supervision and consumer participation in research. She is Vice President of SCAPE, a member of ANZAP and ANZAP ethics committee and a member of AASW.

Dr Kaalii Cargill

Kaalii is co-director of the Kairos Centre in Melbourne, where she has been involved in planning and implementing counselling and psychotherapy training for sixteen years. She and her partner, Andrew, developed the therapeutic modality of Soul Centred psychotherapy in the 1980s.Kaalii has worked in private practice as a psychotherapist for thirty years, recently concentrating on supervision and group work. She has a special interest in energy psychology and mind-body communication, which was the focus of her PhD. She is the current President of SCAPE, a member of the PACFA Register committee and the PACFA Research committee. She is passionate about the ongoing development and recognition of the professions of counselling and psychotherapy. Kaalii has four children and seven grandchildren, spends some of each winter in Bali, and writes speculative fiction.

Tim has worked as a psychotherapist for 26 years in Sydney and originally in Britain where he trained. He trains psychotherapists and counsellors, runs groups and consults to organisations.

Charles Wilson is CEO for Communicare Sydney and has had over 25 years experience in the community sector. In addition he works as a psychologist, relationship counsellor and Supervisor in a private practice from home. Charles has been a counsellor for over 20 years and been actively involved on a National level in the Australian Association of Relationship Counsellors. He served as the National President of AARC for 10 years. Charles is also actively involved in providing pre marriage and marriage enrichment training programs.

Mick has spent 9 years as a Salvation Army Officer with appointments in Corps (Church) and Magistrates Court, upon leaving there he was employed with Corrections Victoria working with clients on parole and prosecuting breaches of Community based orders. For the past eight years he has been employed by St Vincent DePaul as a Counsellor and Team Leader working with men who are experiencing homelessness, substance dependence and mental health issues. His other role is working with QICSA reviewing government funded agencies.

Andrew is the General Manager at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP). ACAP has been involved in the education and training of counsellors for over 20 years. Previously, Andrew worked for Relationships Australia in Queensland. He has been actively involved in the counselling field since 1985. Most of his experience as a counsellor, supervisor and counsellor educator has been gained in the non-government community services sector. Now residing in Sydney, he is currently immediate Past-President of one of the PACFA members associations, SCAPE (Society of Counselling and Psychotherapy Educators). He has an interest in the development of counselling and psychotherapy course accreditation within Australia.

Elisabeth Shaw

Elisabeth Shaw is an individual, couple and family therapist, supervisor and trainer in private practice in Drummoyne, NSW. Previously a Manager & Director of Relationships Australia NSW, she has presented and published papers over many years focused on the couple bond, intimacy and sexuality, violence, working with men in therapy, ethical and legal issues in therapy and supervision and other areas of supervision best practice. She is the co-editor (with Jim Crawley) of “Couple Therapy in Australia; Issues Emerging from Practice” (Psychoz Publications, 2007). Elisabeth has considerable experience as a trainer of clinical practitioners, and supervises and consults extensively with individuals and teams from nursing and welfare to psychotherapy and the corporate sector, responding to clients with very diverse presenting problems and needs. She is Chair of the PACFA Ethics Committee. In this role her interests are in improving professional standards, sharing the learning gained from managing ethical issues with the professional community, and joining with MA's in reflecting on and debating issues such that we can all grow and change in response to changing community expectations.

Dr Sally Hunter
PhD, Master of Counselling (Hons), Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours in Mathematics), Bachelor of Counselling, Graduate Diploma in Higher Education, Diploma in Individual, Couple and Family Therapy
Sally trained as a couple and family therapist after migrating to Australia from the UK in 1986. She worked in Sydney for Unifam Counselling and Mediation Services and in private practice, before moving to the University of New England in 2003 as a Lecturer in Counselling. She completed her PhD in 2008 and published a book based on this research entitled “Childhood sexual experiences: Narratives of resilience” with Radcliffe Publishing in 2010. Sally is Course Co-ordinator for the Counselling and Mental Health programs at the University of New England and was principal investigator for a grant into “Meeting the needs of rural and remote Australians through the ongoing development of the interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Practice at UNE conducted in 2010 for the Department of Health and Ageing.
